Architects sell out Seattle’s Showbox SoDo
Showbox SoDo | Seattle, WA | August 4, 2025
UK metalcore band Architects returned to Seattle on Monday night, seven years after their last show in Washington state, this time supporting their recently released album The Sky, The Earth & All Between.
The night kicked off with post-hardcore act Holywatr who opened the show with their Deftones-inspired sound, warming up the audience for the even heavier acts to follow. The Los Angeles-based band played a new unreleased track as well as some of their popular tracks like “nail polish” and “loose ends.”
ERRA was up next, who performed many of their heaviest songs with technical precision. Opening the set with their usual closing track “Snowblood,” ERRA’s performance was intense throughout all nine songs, including brand new single “Gore of Being” which was met with an enthusiastic response from the audience.
Finally, Architects took the stage for their long-awaited Seattle performance, beginning with vocalist Sam Carter alone on the stage under a single light for The Sky, The Earth & All Between opener “Elegy,” before the full band joined in to kick off an explosive performance. Without pausing they immediately went into “Whiplash” which had the crowd instantly moving and singing along. Architects’ entire set was filled with incredibly bright cinematic lighting, mosh pits, and constant crowdsurfing that was encouraged by the band—Carter invited the audience to crowdsurf before playing “Impermanence,” and later thanked security for catching every crowdsurfer.
In addition to the heavy music there were some emotional moments as well–Carter paused to speak candidly about the importance of mental health and vulnerability before performing “Everything Ends,” and the band played a snippet of their classic track “Gone With the Wind” and dedicated it to late guitarist and founding member Tom Searle while leading into the last song he was involved in writing, “Doomsday.” Architects finished off the evening with an encore of “Seeing Red” that had the crowd chanting along with the band, ending with fan favorite “Animals.”
Architects’ North America tour continues through August 22nd–tour dates and tickets can be found here.
