Masonic Temple | Detroit, Michigan | September 27

Detroit’s metal community packed in for a night of relentless heaviness on September 27 as Lorna Shore brought their tour through the city, delivering a punishing and unforgettable show.

Opening the evening was Peeling Flesh, who wasted no time setting the tone with a crushing wall of sound that instantly had the crowd moving. Their set even featured an unreleased track, an extra-heavy surprise that proved they weren’t holding anything back. Next up, Shadow of Intent turned up the intensity, with frontman Ben Duerr commanding the stage under piercing red lights before driving the audience into a frenzy during the crowd-favorite “The Heretic Prevails.” Michigan’s own The Black Dahlia Murder followed with an electric hometown performance. Their ten-song set had fans screaming nearly every word back at them while multiple circle pits and mosh pits erupted across the floor, keeping the energy high.

When it came time for Lorna Shore, anticipation filled the room. A massive flag bearing the band’s logo hung across the stage, fog moving around it as the members took their positions. The moment the flag dropped, chaos was unleashed with the explosive opener “Oblivion.” Will Ramos’s vocal performance was nothing short of devastating, his gutturals on “Prison of Flesh” shaking the room while the band delivered with absolute precision. They powered through fan favorites before closing the main set with “To the Hellfire.” But the night didn’t end there — Lorna Shore returned to perform the full three-part “Pain Remains” saga, a dramatic encore that elevated the show from brutal to unforgettable.
